He also serves on the Select Committee on PPACA and the Economic & Tourism Subcommittee. Matt is proud of his record of passing complex legislation directly addressing the challenges we face, including overhauling Florida’s Department of Health and increasing domestic energy production. In addition to his legislative service, Matt is very active in our Collier community. He served as Chairman of the Golden Gate Fire Commission. Matt also served as Chairman of the Rotary Club of Collier – Golden Gate of which he is a long-standing member. He served as a member of the Collier County Productivity Community, the Collier County Revenue Commission and as a member of the Golden Gate Community Emergency Response Team.
Matt is a licensed real estate broker with VIP Realty Group and is an instructor at the Naples School of Real Estate. Prior to his career as a broker, Matt retired from Walgreens after 20 years in management.
Matt moved to Golden Gate Estates in 1990 and was a finalist for “Citizen of the Year of Golden Gate” in 2000. Raising his children, Chris and Kelsey, in Collier County, Matt was a Golden Gate Volunteer Little League Umpire for 15 years. Matt is proud that Chris and Kelsey both came back home after college and live and work here in Collier County.
