3rd Annual Love the Lake 5k/10k comes to Clewiston


CLEWISTON — On your marks, get set, GO!
It’s that time of year again: New Year’s resolutions may be waning, but the cooler winter temperatures mean runners and walkers can suit up, step outside and not drop from heat stroke.
An opportunity for those avid runners and walkers to come together and enjoy their shared passion is also fast approaching: The Love the Lake 5k/10k is coming up on its third year and race coordinator Johnnie Nelson has high hopes for this year’s competition.


Businesses honored at 65th Chamber Dinner in Clewiston



CLEWISTON—High-heeled shoes and little black dresses strolled in on the arms of well-dressed suits and ties as friends and members of Clewiston’s business community arrived in style to the Clewiston Inn on Sept. 17 for the 65th Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner.

The 6 p.m. social hour allowed the wine to pour and the conversation to flow as the Chamber made their last minute preparations for the special dinner.

Chamber Director Electa Saker made her rounds, introducing guests and ensuring the seats were in order and the places were set -- her background in event planning coming into particular use.
